Mom's Chili

Raisins in chili … yes, I know it’s strange. Just give it a try and you’ll understand. This was my absolute favorite growing up and remains so to this day. Unlike any chili you’ve ever tried, this family recipe combines sweet elements with the hearty, beefy flavor we’ve all come to love in great chili. Calabrian chiles provide a mild kick to round out the dish into something your whole family will love.

Ingredients: ground beef, tomatoes, kidney beans, chicken stock (water, chicken, onion, carrot, celery, garlic, parsley, bay leaves, pepper, apple cider vinegar, olive oil), raisins, anchovy, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, marmite, Calabrian chili, chili powder, brown sugar, maple syrup, paprika, cumin & salt

Instructions: Remove from freezer and let thaw. Contents can be brought to temperature:

• in microwave, using covered microwave-safe container

• on stove top at low heat. In covered sauce pan, stirring regularly to prevent burning

• or, in 300 degree oven, using covered oven-safe pot
